The Saudis are apparently going to war with Jake Paul. On Thursday afternoon, it appeared that Paul had a deal in place to fight Canelo Alvarez in May.

News of the Paul-Alvarez fight apparently annoyed Saudi backer Turki Alalshikh, who reportedly stopped negotiating with the Mexican superstar on other potential deals if he fought the YouTube star-turned-boxer.

Via The Ring

According to boxing insider Michael Coppinger of ESPN, Turki Alalshikh – Head of Riyadh Season and the General Entertainment Authority – is “suspending efforts” to finalize a lucrative three-fight deal with super middleweight world champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

As previously reported by The Ring, an agreement was in place for Canelo to defend his super middleweight crown against Terence Crawford on a September date at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The fight with Crawford would have been the first bout of this agreement.

Coppinger indicates that Canelo and Crawford signed term sheets after agreeing to a deal – and that the Mexican star’s decision to move forward with a planned fight against social media star Jake Paul is the potential cause for the fallout in finalizing the multi-fight pact

JUST IN: “It’ll Shock The World”: Terence Crawford Officially Announces Who He Will Fight Next

On Friday morning, Alvarez had a last-minute change of heart, and announced that he would be signing a four-fight deal with the Saudis and would not be fighting Paul.

An annoyed Paul took to social media to fire shots at Canelo for aligning himself with the Saudis.

“Breaking news: Canelo Alvarez ducked me Jake Paul and is now an owned slave with no regard for the pride of the Mexican people who support him on US soil. it’s not surprising when his whole career he has done nothing for the sport of boxing outside the ring. I’m the new face of boxing. You cannot have the biggest fight of 2025 without my name involved. When all of your events tank and lose money you will all realize who the king of the sport is. 28 years old. Biggest fight in boxing history. My own boss. Not owned. 5 years in. All of you felines want to see me fail, but god has other plans. It’s the era of good. The era of the elephant. It’s the era of MVP.”

Numerous conflicting reports this week have left fans confused about when and who Terence Crawford will be fighting next.

The four-division world champion was last out in August of 2024 when he made his debut at super-welterweight, beating Israel Madrimov to win the WBA title. Post-fight, he immediately resumed calling out Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez, an exercise he had started almost a year prior after becoming undisputed at welterweight with a victory over Errol Spence Jr.

Though Canelo was initially dismissive of the fight, claiming he would get no credit for beating a smaller man in Crawford would have to come up two divisions for the challenge, talks progressed well this year.

In fact, it was reported that both men had agreed the fight for September in Las Vegas before The Ring magazine – owned by Turki Alalshikh, the man putting the fight together – announced this week that talks had collapsed and it was off the table.

Canelo was then linked with a bout against controversial fighter Jake Paul in May, however late last night Alalshikh announced a u-turn and that he has indeed struck a four-fight deal with Alvarez.

“Canelo in Riyadh in May. The biggest fight in the history of boxing in September. Then two more fights in 2026. Don’t miss, with the lion.”

Crawford then finally broke his silence on it all, confirming he will face Canelo later this year, taking no fight in the interim.

“I’m waiting on Canelo in September and going to shock the world in Riyadh Season!”

Fans will hope that the contract saga is over and done with, and will look forward to an announcement as to who Canelo will face in May. As for Crawford, he will now be working on packing on the pounds for the weight jump.

Paige Spiranac probably gives many wives and girlfriends a little angst.

The golf influencer and model has built up a huge following across social media with her many provocative looks and Tiger Woods hot takes, while having the game that most amateur golfers, and many professionals, would envy, like bombing 287-yard drives nonchalantly.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Claudette Montana on Super Bowl LIX radio row, where Spiranac has had to fend for herself, the 31-year-old former San Diego State Aztecs star revealed why the tables were turned when she met the 15-time major winner GOAT, who of course is morning the loss of his mother Kultilda.

After talking about playing with LIV Golf star and two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, Montana asks Spiranac who from professional golf she’d still want to play with.

“Well of course Tiger Woods,” Spiranac said. “He gave me a chipping lesson once. It was like the greatest experience of my life. He smells so good by the way… Like that was the first thing I noticed.”

Montana follows up with, what does he smell like?

“Success,” Spiranac joked. “I never smelled him before, and it was incredible. So I would love to play a a round of golf with him.”

Then the golf influencer, with 4 million Instagram followers, mentions Phil Mickelson, who has blocker her on social media for some reason.

“Phil Mickelson would obviously be such an interesting experience, I feel like,” Spiranac said. “I’d like to play a round with him. But he has to unblock me first for that to happen. We can make amends and play some golf.”

Given Spiranac was wearing a T-shirt for the interview that read, “I just hope both teams have fun,” Mickelson should take her up on the offer.

Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau are set for a rare reunion as stars in Happy Gilmore 2. The sequel to the popular film will feature the golf rivals alongside fellow professionals Brooks Koepka and Justin Thomas.

Adam Sandler will reprise his role as Happy Gilmore, a failed ice hockey player who takes up golf but has an extremely unconventional style. The 1996 story is set to be continued with Happy Gilmore 2 released later this year.

It has now been revealed that several current golf stars will make prominent appearances in the movie. The PGA’s McIlroy and Thomas will have prominent roles alongside LIV Golf’s DeChambeau and Koepka.

NFL icon Travis Kelce will also make an appearance. Golf fans have been told to expect to see the likes of McIlroy pop up frequently during the film.

Co-producer Chad Munn revealed: “We had so many professional golfers and legends of the game come out to be in the movie and I think people will be really surprised by how much they’re in it.”

Hollywood actor Chris McDonald – who plays Gilmore’s nemesis Shooter McGavin – did not divulge too many details about the film. However, he revealed what it was like to shoot with golf’s best stars.

“I can’t really talk too much about it because it’s under wraps, but it’s going to be awesome,” McDonald said.

“So much fun to shoot with new faces. Travis Kelce was in it. But that said, it’s got the quintessential Adam Sandler touch. He’s back. Of course, Julie Bowen is back. Yours truly, Chris McDonald, and a lot of new faces.

“But it’s got so much heart and so much humour that it’s going to, I think new generations are going to eat it up because it’s a rare and beautiful thing, and Netflix went above and beyond at making it the best.”

Last week, McIlroy bagged his 27th PGA Tour title and his first on the famous Pebble Beach course in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The world No. 3 is hoping to end a decade-long wait for a major championship this year.

“There’s a few what I would call ‘cathedrals of golf,’” McIlroy said afterwards. “Here, Augusta, St. Andrews, obviously. Maybe a few more you could add in there. And I had a big fat zero on all of those going in here. So to knock one off of Pebble is very cool.”

Tiger Woods opened up on the close bond his children Charlie and Sam shared with their grandmother Kutilda following her passing on Wednesday.

Woods announced the death of his mother in a statement to his social media followers, and in doing so revealed the love she shared in both his life and that of his children. “It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning,” he wrote.

“My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible.

“She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie. Thank you all for your support, prayers, and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you Mom.”

Woods was seen in public with his late mom just last week after she was seen in the crowd of the 82-time PGA Tour winner’s TGL victory for Jupiter Links over Boston Common, as was his son Charlie. Kutilda’s was announced just hours before the latest TGL match between Boston and Los Angeles got underway at the SoFi Center.

Following the news both teams showed their respects by holding a minute silence before the start of play in the SoFi Center. The 15-time major champion’s TGL co-founder and rival Rory McIlroy paid tribute to Kutilda, also known as Tilda, on the back of the match in Florida.

“Yeah, obviously very sad, sort of surreal. She was here last Monday night. Yeah, it seemed sudden,” McIlroy said. “I got to know Tita a little bit. She was always very warm, very courteous, and generous with her time. Yeah, it was always a delight to see her at tournaments.

“As time went on, you sort of saw her less and less, and you’d bump into her in player dining and it was always nice to see her. She always had a big smile. Yeah, you obviously feel for Tiger and Sam, and Charlie and wish them all the best. Yeah, it’s a sad day.”

Tilda had played an important role in the phenomenal career of her son, drawing a tribute from the PGA Tour and commissioner Jay Monahan. “The PGA Tour family is saddened by the passing of Kultida Woods,” Monahan said in a statement.

“Those of us who have been lucky enough to have a firsthand view of Tiger Woods’ career know how much both his greatness and his humanity have stemmed from the love and support of his mother. We will cherish our memories of her and our thoughts are with Tiger, his children Sam and Charlie, and their entire family as they mourn her loss.”

Terence Crawford was all set to move up two weight-classes to challenge unified super-middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez.

Though the fight has previously seemed unrealistic, the two pound-for-pound stars entered talks this year and looked to have made excellent process on the mega fight.

However, the Ring Magazine, owned by Turki Alalshikh who was putting the fight deal together, has now reported in unequivocal terms that the fight is off.

While fans wait for the reason in talks breaking down for a fight that reportedly had both a date and venue, many took to social media to urge the Mexican to finally face David Benavidez.

Benavidez – whose stock and pulling power has never been higher – has moved up to light-heavyweight after failing to secure his shot at Canelo when competing at super-middle. After winning his debut in the division via decision against Oleksandr Gvozdyk, earlier this month he came out on top of a stern test in the form of hard-hitting Cuban southpaw David Morrell.

The victory saw Benavidez leave the ring with both the WBC Interim belt and the WBA Regular title, putting him in prime position for a fight against the winner of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol later this month.

There is the potential for a trilogy there if Bivol, who previously beat Canelo, can come out on top against undisputed champion Beterbiev at the second time of asking. With it being well known Canelo wants to avenge that defeat, what better way to earn it than beat number one contender David Benavidez, and tick off a dream fight for fans in the process?

Eddie Hearn has denied reports that Anthony Joshua’s next fight has been agreed with either Deontay Wilder or Martin Bakole.

Joshua is expected to make his return to the ring in the summer. He is coming off the fourth defeat of his career after Daniel Dubois knocked him out in the fifth round. Joshua hit the canvas three times on his way to the stoppage defeat. There were negotiations over a rematch, but talks broke down as Dubois chose to face Joseph Parker. Dubois will face Parker on February 22. Joshua has been linked with a fight against Wilder for some time.

Talks initially began in 2018 when the fight could have been for the Undisputed Heavyweight Title. Joshua held the WBA, IBF and WBO belts, whilst Wilder held the WBC title. Reports indicated that Wilder’s team made a $50 million offer. Once again, talks broke down as both fighters moved on. Joshua would lose his belts, eventually to Oleksandr Usyk. Meanwhile, Wilder lost his WBC belt to Tyson Fury. Joshua and Wilder were meant to face off last year. They had signed a two fight deal.

This was dependent on Joshua and Wilder winning their next fights. Joshua defeated Otto Wallin, but Wilder came up short against Parker. He then chose to face Francis Ngannou, and Wilder took on Zhilei Zhang. Joshua stopped in Ngannou, but Wilder lost to Zhang, reducing the demand to see that fight. But following Joshua’s defeat, a fight with Wilder could make sense.

Joshua’s Future

The other alternative is a fight with Bakole. Bakole is consistently on record, stating that he has hurt Joshua in sparring. He secured the biggest win of his career when he stopped the-then undefeated Jared Anderson in his last fight. Bakole is expected to fight in May in his next bout. There were reports that a deal with Joshua had been agreed for a fight in Africa. Hearn has now dispelled any rumors of a Wilder or Bakole fight, leaving questions over where Joshua goes next.

Eddie Hearn Didn't Hesitate When Asked If Anthony Joshua Has Now 'Signed' To Fight Martin Bakole - Seconds Out

“The latest one that someone sent me on Saturday, saying, ‘Anthony Joshua vs. Martin Bakole is done, signed.’ We have not had one conversation about that fight. I’m not ruling it out, by the way, but it’s never even been a conversation. So, I don’t know where that came from. I saw one last night, ‘Wilder-Joshua is done for June 7th.’ [And] I’ve not had one conversation about that fight.

“[And] I spoke to AJ for the first time yesterday in a few weeks, and he’s actually in real good spirits. I think Martin Bakole is a very good fighter, but don’t get carried away that this is the new George Foreman. It’s always been the two – Tyson Fury – who is retired at the moment, we’ll see how long that lasts, and the winner of Dubois-Parker,” Hearn said of Joshua’s ideal next opponent,” Hearn said

Canelo Alvarez’s blockbuster showdown with Terence Crawford has now been scrapped.

The rivals were set to meet in Las Vegas on September 13 at super-middleweight but The Ring magazine is now reporting the fight has been cancelled. The meeting would have seen Crawford move up two weight divisions and the postponement comes days after reports suggesting Alvarez will fight Jake Paul in May.

Crawford had been pushing the fight for almost a year and both men recently spoke to Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh in London – who has been a huge advocate of this mouthwatering showdown. Terms were believed to have been agreed with an official announcement imminent.

Following the recent meeting with HE, Alvarez was expected to sign a three-fight deal with Alalshikh and was expected to compete in the ring before taking on Crawford in September. Previous reports claimed that ‘Saul’ would be open to a showdown with IBF mandatory challenger William Scull before talks opened with YouTuber Paul.

As for Crawford, the undefeated American star recently moved up to 154lbs and took on Israil Madrimov – where he eventually became a four-weight world champion. Last year, it looked like a clash between the pair was seemingly off the cards after Alalshikh revealed he had no interest in pursuing it anymore. His Excellency had the dust-up at the top of his boxing wishlist and even made the offer to ‘Saul’, but talks between the pair broke down.

Both Crawford and Alalshikh jumped on an Instagram live during UFC 306 back in September – with ‘Bud’ going on to call out Canelo following the latter’s win over Edgar Berlanga. “Yo Turki, tell them we are going to go for Canelo next,” said Crawford. “Yes,” replied Alalshikh. “Let’s go! Canelo, come on. We are ready.”

Crawford then added: “You heard it from him. Just put me in the game b****. Canelo-Crawford, the biggest fight in boxing. But we stay ready though. We stay ready, that way we ain’t got to get ready.”

Serena Williams’ family has a new addition on Instagram!

On Sunday, Oct. 13, the retired tennis star, 43, and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, launched their 13-month-old daughter Adira’s official Instagram account. Adira joins big sister Olympia, 7, on the social media platform.

“Oh hello there – I know it’s been over a year but I’m just getting to this,” read the caption of the debut post, which was made in collaboration with Adira’s parents’ Instagram accounts.

The post contains a selection of images of the toddler, beginning with a sweet shot of her sitting in a pink high chair as she looked toward the camera while eating an array of food.

The carousel continues with a snap of Adira lounging on a chair wearing a pink floral onesie with one of her hands in her hair, followed by a photo of the little girl in the same outfit with a red pacifier in her mouth as she stood near a couch.

The fourth image shows Adira standing in a pair of yellow bell-bottom pants and a white and yellow floral shirt as she held two boxes seemingly filled with film camera refills.

The final shot captures Adira wearing a pink dress as she stood on top of a small white slide.

The description of Adira’s new Instagram account reads “Gummy Bear,” along with three emojis: a person running, a red heart, and a man behind a computer. As of now, the account is following four people: parents Serena and Alexis, aunt Venus Williams and sister Olympia.

The first post on Olympia’s Instagram account was made on Sept. 13, 2017 — less than two weeks after she was born on Sep. 1. “Thinking about mommy and daddy 🏃🏿‍♀️👨🏻‍💻,” the caption read.

Since then, Olympia’s account has been regularly updated. A post from August 2024 shows Olympia and Adira holding hands during a trip to Paris. In the photo, the elder sister wore a matching hot pink set, while her baby sibling sported dark blue jeans and a light purple shirt as she was pushed in a hot pink stroller.

“Sisters in Paris,” the post was captioned.

Last month, Serena opened up about giving birth to Adira, sharing that she made the decision to have a C-section.

“Looking back, I’ll never have that moment again. For whatever weird reason, that kind of makes me a little sad, but that’s probably a party of one,” she said of giving birth naturally to Olympia.

“This time I went in with a plan,” Serena continued. “I like to say I put my best effort out there, and this was no different. I literally thought about it as a Grand Slam: ‘How can I succeed?’ “

Tiger Woods has announced the death of his mother, Kultida Woods, at the age of 78.

Just last week, Kultida accompanied her son to participate in the TGL tournament held in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The proud mother always defined herself as Tiger’s “biggest fan”.“My mother was a force of nature in her own right, her spirit was simply undeniable,” Woods’ heartfelt message reads

She was quick with the needle and laughed. She was my biggest fan, my biggest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible

While Earl Woods was considered to be the forger of Tiger’s talent during his childhood and to strengthen his competitive spirit that allowed him to become one of the best golfers in history, Tiger actually pointed to his mother as “the enforcer” of this work throughout his career.

Tiger has said on several occasions that he used to dress in red on Sundays under the influence of his mother, who told him that it was his “power color”, as a tradition inherited from her native Thailand, a country where people choose the colors they will wear throughout the week and the color for Sunday is red.

“It all started with mom,” Woods said during the presentation of his Sun Day Red clothing line in February last year: “Mom thought that being a Capricorn, my power color was red, so I wore red when I was a junior golfer and won some tournaments.”

I go to a university that is red, Stanford is red. We wore red on the last day of each of the tournaments, and then in all the tournaments I’ve played as a professional I’ve worn red. It has become synonymous with me

Kultida Woods was born in Thailand and worked in the US Army office in Bangkok in the 1960s when she met Earl Woods, a US Army Special Forces soldier. She moved with him to the United States in 1968. They married in New York and moved to Cypress, California, where Tiger was born in 1975.

Kultida and Earl Woods were married for 37 years until he died of cancer in May 2006 at the age of 74.

However, throughout his career, Tiger has always appreciated his mother’s influence in his life. Last year, when he received the Bob Jones Award, the highest honor given by the United States Golf Association, Tiger thanked his mother for being a force of stability in their home.

I accept it with humility and incredible respect for the previous winners, but I also accept it for my mom. She has allowed me to get here. She allowed me to do these things, to pursue my dreams and the support and love; I didn’t do this alone. I had the greatest support any kid could have: my mom. Thank you, mom

Tiger Woods

Kultida Woods was very close to the 18th green at Augusta National Golf Club with her grandchildren, Sam and Charlie, when Tiger won the last major championship of his career, the 2019 Masters

“My mom doesn’t get enough credit,” Woods said in 2024. “Everyone thought it was my dad when I went on tour, which it was, but mom was at home. Mom has been there all my life. She’s always been there through thick and thin.
