Simone Biles definitely had a Paris Olympics campaign to remember. The gymnast arrived in the French city with a point to prove after her withdrawal from Tokyo left many doubting her potential to compete again at the big stage. But, when odds stack up against someone who is absolutely brilliant at their job, that’s when they shine through even more. Simone ended up winning four medals in Paris with three golds and one silver.

Thus, the gymnast can look back and remember Paris quite fondly. To help her do this, Simone Biles even brought herself a soft toy version of the Olympic mascot called the Phryges. The mascot, which is meant to represent liberty, one ideal of the French Revolution, was not liked by the audience when it was first introduced. But it eventually grew on them, with many praising the red anthropomorphic cap and buying it, which led to huge sales of it in the country.

Thus, Simone Biles had also bought one herself to keep as a memento. However, her toy seems to be threatened by the arrival of a new member of the Biles family. On December 24th, Simone posted a photo on her Instagram story introducing the world to her parent’s new puppy. She captioned the story, saying, “My parents got a new puppy.” While this generated its fair share of buzz, it was the next story that caught fan’s attention.Simone Biles

Simone Biles posted another story of the dog after that, showing her keeping the Paris Olympics mascot by her side while she chews on a different toy. It seemed that the mascot was also about to have the same fate, seemingly worrying the gymnast. She captioned the story, saying, “& her favorite toy is Mr. Paris. ‘I will not freak out. I will not freak out.” Thus, it will take some time for Simone to get used to the animal. But the gymnast has always had a connection with dogs.

In fact, during the Olympics, Simone Biles and team USA had taken a therapy dog with them named Beacon, who had been introduced to them during the trials. He had been a source of comfort to the whole team, including the gymnast, and benefited their mental well-being.

The ‘Goodest Boy’ of the US team also highlighted the modern-day struggle of mental health for athletes, which might affect their performances. Of course, the biggest example here is Simone’s Tokyo campaign itself. Thus, there is quite a good chance that Beacon’s presence in the team might have played a role in Simone Biles’ extraordinary performance. This shows that she has always been deeply connected with dogs.

Biles is a constant presence at the Chicago sideline before games at Soldier Field

Jonathan Owens kicked off Sunday’s Chicago Bears game with a heartwarming pre-kickoff tradition-a kiss on the cheek for his wife, Simone Biles.

The Olympic gymnast joined her husband on the sidelines at Soldier Field before the Bears faced off against the Detroit Lions, marking her second appearance at a Bears game this week.

Earlier in the week, Biles attended the Bears’ Monday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings, where she and Owens charmed fans with their playful personal handshake before kickoff.

Unfortunately for the Bears, the Biles-Owens good-luck handshake was not enough to prevent another loss as they fell 12-30 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2023, are known for their unwavering support of each other’s careers.

For Owens, Biles’ presence has been a game-changer.

“You get a different type of focus when you have that one person you’re focusing on,”Owens shared in a July interview.

“Since meeting Simone, I’ve played a lot better… You come home, talk about your day, and play with the dogs-that’s just kind of our thing.”

Biles, who continues to support Owens at his games, is also making headlines in the gymnastics world.

The University of Georgia recently announced that she will attend their gymnastics team’s home opener on Jan. 17.

Almost immediately after guiding Simone Biles to redemption in Paris, Team USA’s co-head coach, Cecile Landi, left elite gymnastics. The seven-time Olympic gold medalist’s long-time coach also parted ways with the gymnastics legend to pursue her dream of coaching college gymnastics. “I’ve always said I wanted to be an NCAA coach one day,” expressed the veteran coach.

However, Simone Biles supported her coach despite Landi leaving the World Champions Center. “End of an era. It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later!” wrote the 27-year-old. Yet, the Georgia Bulldogs co-head coach has made a startling confession regarding staying in touch with her former pupils. While she’s free to contact Biles, it’s not the same for everyone.

“The hardest part is not to be able to talk to any of my former athletes who have signed or are in college,” Cecile Landi said on the latest episode of Flipping Out with Bridget Sloan. The revelation made Sloan’s jaws drop. While the Olympics-winning coach can interact with them if they meet in person, she can’t reach out via phone calls or texts.Simone Biles

“There’s no text messaging or anything. Happy birthday, whatever. Like those things are gone,” added the 45-year-old. This means that while the veteran coach can speak to her elite gymnastics pupils, she may not be able to talk to Jordan Chiles soon. After the Olympics and the bronze medal controversy, Chiles took a break from the sport and is set to rejoin college.

After taking a break to prepare for and compete in the Paris Olympics, Landi’s former pupil is ready to return to UCLA for her final two years of eligibility. However, Cecile Landi doesn’t worry about her former pupils. “They’re well taken care of, and one day we’ll be able to talk again, freely,” added the Bulldogs’ co-head coach. However, being “completely cut off” from many of her former mentees is only the tip of the iceberg.

Cecile Landi enjoys a lot less freedom when it comes to being an NCAA coachSimone Biles

While discussing the strict rules that govern college gymnastics, Sloan discussed how inflexible the routine can get in the NCAA. As a nine-time NCAA champion, Sloan is no stranger to the rules. So she brought up just how many meetings Landi must have to attend. And while the 45-year-old agreed, she went further, elaborating on practice and interactions.

Although she has enjoyed her time as a college gymnastics coach so far, Cecile Landi highlighted the lack of freedom. “Difference is also like, when we’re in club… Let’s say, tomorrow we want to change practice or whatever. We could do that. Now all the rules, I can’t change practice,” said Landi, recalling her time as an elite coach. Even certain interactions require approvals.

For gymnasts, the window to make something out of their career choice is relatively smaller than most other athletes. But that was only one part of Suni Lee’s challenges. In 2021, the Auburn star reached the top of the sport when she won the All-Around gold in Tokyo. But life came crashing right after her triumph. But Lee didn’t let her kidney disease dictate her life.

Instead, Sunisa took control of her life and dreams and made a comeback in Paris this year, which will surely go down as one of the greatest returns to the limelight of all time. But thankfully, she had some shoulders to lean on and an unwavering support system that helped Lee maintain composure during her rough patch. And now, as the 2x Olympic champ takes a break from gymnastics, she can’t help but feel grateful for all those who stood by her at every step.

In her recent Instagram story, Suni Lee recalled what a rollercoaster of a ride 2024 has been for her. From deciding to sign up for the US Classic to going on to win team gold in Paris at the 33rd Olympic Games, the 21-year-old has had a year to remember, to say the least. Noting the same, Lee wrote on her IG update, “Being emotional but sitting in my apt thinking about everything I’ve been thru this year and I am SO PROUD OF MYSELF for never giving up.” She went on to express her gratitude: “I’m so blessed to be able to live this amazing life with the most amazing people surrounded by me.Suni Lee

However, her uplifted spirit might have something to do with the festive season that will soon be upon us. In her previous IG story, the Olympian shared how she’s been organizing her quaint apartment and how she’s hitting the stores to make sure she has everything to celebrate the upcoming holidays. “Fav time of the year,” confessed Lee, and seemingly, that has given her a reason to sit back and reflect on how far she’s come in her life.

Right after her seminal career point in Japan three years ago, Lee was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease, which the doctors claimed could not be cured. Naturally, the news came as a blow to the guts, and Suni quit her NCAA season mid-way through 2023 to recover her health. However, she was determined not to let the setback take away her elite career as well, and she returned to action in August 2023 for the US Classic. And she hasn’t looked back since, as the City of Love stood to witness in 2024. But it seems like Lee’s hunger for life has only grown and she’s not afraid to tread on uncharted waters.

Shortly after her successful Paris campaign, Lee made heads turn again. This time for the New York Fashion Week. But that wasn’t her only business in NYC. Deciding to give herself a break from all the action, Lee is setting up home at the Big Apple in New York and was understandably eager to show up at one of the most coveted fashion shows on the planet. “I’m excited for a new chapter, and happy I get to do it in New York. I moved a day before hitting the ground running for NYFW,” she told Vogues while also mentioning how she’s looking forward to doing daily errands like getting coffee and buying groceries.

The Biles clan is expanding! Simone Biles’ sister-in-law Sammi is expecting her second baby, and naturally, the heaving emotions can hardly be kept hidden. But that doesn’t mean Baby Biles is running short on love or that her love for gymnastics is ignored. Instead, the 7x Olympic gold medalist’s niece is pursuing her passion with gusto, and her mom is fondly cheering her on.

The two-year-old has been one of the biggest fans of her beloved TT Simone Biles in the short time she has been here. And she’s picked up an inkling toward the sport as well. From sporting colorful leotards to mesmerizing the community with her neat skills, the little one has already become a steady member of the Simone Biles fan club. But while the family awaits the welcome of the new one among their fold, Sammi can’t help but feel grateful for the little bundle of joy that’s made her life brighter for the last couple of years.Simone Biles

In her Instagram post from December 13, Simone’s brother’s wife once again noted how Baby Biles has been a blessing. Sharing more pictures of the rising gymnast in a World Champions Centre leotard, Sammi left a special message for her daughter. “God really knew what He was doing when he gave me the precious gift of you,” the post reads as the accompanying images show Simone’s biggest cheerleader perfecting her skills at the gym.

Looking at her daughter carrying the stripes of the same place that forged Simone Biles, Sammi was understandably overwhelmed. “I mean come onnnn,” she wrote in her post’s caption, accompanied by an emoji to highlight her gushing feeling. Ronni, on the other hand, seemed impervious to the fact that her mom was dealing with raw emotions and looked super comfy in her leotard as she kept at the efforts to keep Simone Biles’ legacy alive within the family.

However, this isn’t the first time that Sammi’s firstborn has enthralled the gymnastics community with her wardrobe collection. Having Simone Biles as your aunt almost guarantees you’ll grow up as the apple of the eye of her fans, and little Ronni has managed to give back in kind with her antics. And every time she found a new way to voice her support for her favorite aunt, the fans fell in love with the toddler all over again.

Ronni’s leotard collection has already become part of gymnastics lore. Along with that, her moves on gymnastics apparatus have also made many believe that gymnastics runs in the blood of the Biles. Just a few days ago, Sammi’s daughter was once again spotted getting her A-game on as she wobbled through the gym, trying her hands at various moves.

And Simone’s sister-in-law could barely hold it together, seeing her child following in the footsteps of the country’s most decorated gymnast of all time. “I spy our spicy baby girl,” the youngling’s mom posted on social media, reiterating how watching the former blossom into an athlete is making everyone in the family look at her with awe.

U.S. gymnast Suni Lee finally feels like she’s back on the right track.

The Tokyo 2020 all-around gold medallist spent the last nearly 12 months adjusting to the realities of a kidney-related health concern that ended her NCAA career at Auburn University early and prevented her from making a run at international competition months later.

Now, she has once again found a consistent rhythm to her training.

“I’ve been back in the gym every single day, eight hours a day, and it’s been going pretty well,” Lee told Olympics.com in an exclusive interview ahead of her 2024 competitive debut at the Winter Cup, Saturday (24 February) in Louisville, Kentucky.

“I’m in remission right now, so I’ve just been getting it under control and starting to work up into routines and getting ready for the season.”Suni Lee to end college gymnastics career, sets sights on 2024 Olympics – 101 ESPN

In Louisville, Lee plans to compete on the uneven bars and balance beam only. Her goal there: earn a spot at the upcoming Baku World Cup competition where she can submit an original element she showed the world last month on her social media – a full twisting layout Jaeger catch-and-release move on the uneven bars – to be named in the sport’s rule book.

“I feel really prepared on beam,” Lee said. “Bars… I’m feeling pretty good. We’re kind of just going to get the skill named and then doing a basic bars set. I’m just doing Pak through [to the end of the routine].”

Lee’s confidence ahead of competition belies the struggles she’s faced.

The 20-year-old competed vault and balance beam in August 2023’s U.S. Classic and U.S. Championships, but withdrew from Team USA’s World Championships and Pan Am Games selection competition a month later, ending her season and beginning a difficult five-month period from which she and longtime coach Jess Graba say she’s only recently emerged.

“I had kind of a rough patch, and I was in and out of the gym for about five months,” Lee says.

“It was more just mental, but also trying to figure out my health and just be as healthy as possible coming into the new year because I knew I wanted to not have to worry about it as much, or, like, just make sure that I was going into remission and not going to have a little break out before a big meet.”Olympic pressure in Tokyo: Suni Lee wins gold in Biles absence - Sports Illustrated

But without gymnastics as an outlet, Lee and Graba say times were tough.

Being depressed,” says Graba in response to a question about how Lee filled her days when she couldn’t make it into practice.

“During that time, I was honestly not doing a lot of anything good for me, I was just kind of rotting in my bed and hoping that it would all go away,” adds Lee, later saying, “Things are definitely way better now. Of course, I still have to go to the doctors every couple of weeks. I just got an infusion. But they said that I’ve been progressing a lot.

“I’ve been able to wake up every single day and I’m perfectly fine,” she continued. “I also have been doing this for long enough now, I think, to know the right time to take my medicine, to be able to be perfect for in the morning.”

Her fans have been saying it for years, and after Paris, even some of the doubters, such as Piers Morgan, have changed their minds. Despite already being history’s most decorated gymnast, Simone Biles sought redemption for her disastrous performance at the Tokyo Olympics. Now, after winning three golds and a silver at the 2024 Olympic Games, even Google search has no more doubts.

Google, who still owns the most popular search engine in the market, has bestowed Biles with a special gift on Google Search. The company, who sometimes attach animated easter eggs to certain popular keywords, has recognized Simone Biles as the greatest gymnast of all time. Simply ‘googling’ the seven-time Olympic gold medalist will last you on the search page, but now there’s a special goat-shaped button.Simone Biles

Clicking the GOAT button will initiate a shower of flower bouquets, confetti and golden goats. While this isn’t any official award, it’s a fun way of celebrating the gymnast who has come to revolutionize every aspect of women’s gymnastics. It’s also another cheerful addition to the news of Biles’ club, the WCC hiring two new coaches to take Laurent and Cecile Landis’ place.

They say it’s about the journey, and not the destination. Lucky for Simone Biles, both of these have been incredible for her. The gymnastics GOAT has spent a significant part of her life at the World Champions Centre, putting in the hours to perfect her skills, the results of which have been evident to the world at several Olympic Games. But these stupendous achievements were also a testament to the prowess of the people who helped guide the way. But all good things come to an end.

In her Instagram story from December 10, Biles’ former coach Cecile Landi shared an emotional message as her husband Laurent exits from the iconic gym. Cecile left the gymnastics training center months ago and is currently the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. Now, with her husband also on his way out, the Landis’ time at the WCC has officially ended, and the former French Olympian is having a bittersweet moment.

Olympic gold: Simone Biles' 'redemption tour' only scratches the surface of her story

We had 7 amazing years at WCC,” she wrote in the recent social media update, highlighting how working with Simon has been incredible. Ever since the Landis joined the WCC in 2017, they’ve watched Biles blossom into the world’s best gymnast, with other stars like Jordan Chiles joining along the way. Cecile shared the original post of the official WCC Insta account, which also noted its emotions as Laurent looks ahead to the future.

Farewell to Coach Laurent! You will be greatly missed at WCC. Lots of laughs and tears were shed as WCC is so grateful for the dedication,” reads the caption of the OG post, and Cecile also felt the sadness. “We will miss you,” wrote Landi in her IG update, as she noted her gratefulness for being able to be a part of the exhilarating ride. She also thanked all the athletes, staff, and owners of the establishment for their continued support of the Landis’ endeavors.

Kyle Kuzma has been making headlines once again with ongoing trade rumors, a constant fixture in the NBA news cycle. But amidst the buzz, one thing remains unchanged: his girlfriend, supermodel Winnie Harlow, continues to steal the spotlight. Harlow never fails to turn heads with her impeccable style, and her latest appearance at Audemars Piguet’s glamorous Miami gala was no exception.

The exclusive event, hosted by the ultra-luxurious $1.3 billion watchmaker, set the stage for some of the most influential women in the industry. Harlow shared a series of stunning pictures with her 10.1 million Instagram followers, giving fans a glimpse into the evening. Posing alongside tennis icon Serena Williams and Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, the trio looked radiant in their chic black dresses.

Harlow’s caption, “Power 🖤,” perfectly encapsulated the strength and elegance exuded by these remarkable women, who are trailblazers in their fields. The celebration of powerful black women is undeniable, as their achievements continue to inspire and uplift others.

Williams, in her semi-sheer black bodycon dress, also posted pictures with Biles and Harlow separately, captioning it, “Yesterday, I sat with the GOAT @simonebiles at AN EVENING OF IMPACTFUL CONVERSATION with @audemarspiguet @vanityfair @femalequotient and a house full of women. I love to see it.” Biles’ 7 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze Olympic medals are proof enough of the GOAT title, not to mention the 30 World Championship medals she has won.

Whereas, Harlow made a style statement in her black mini-dress with a thigh-high slit and a bold red lapel. The blazer-style backless LaQuan Smith dress, reaching the length of her hair, gave her a striking look. For accessories, the Canadian opted for a red bag, gold danglers, and a gold watch, the standout piece of the event. She even posed for the cameras, proudly flaunting her Piguet watch. While Kuzma hasn’t reacted to the pictures yet, he surely knows how to compliment his girl.

There is no other gymnast who has seen such a long spell of dominance as Simone Biles. The 27-year-old came into prominence at the 2016 Rio Olympics and has stayed at the top since then, winning numerous medals. This includes her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals. No one else comes close to her. Her legacy in gymnastics has often been compared to another one in a different sport. It is Serena Williams.

Serena is often considered the greatest tennis player to ever step foot on the court, winning 73 titles in her illustrious career. The athlete held the World No. 1 rank for 319 weeks, showing the level of dominance she had over her counterparts. Her 23 Grand Slams, the most one has achieved in the Open Era, also helped cement her legacy.

Serena Williams: Simone Biles Is a Role Model | TIME

Simone and she are both amazing female athletes. Hence, when they recently came together for an event, the fans couldn’t control their excitement. On December 5th, tennis legend Serena Williams uploaded an Instagram post where she sat alongside Simone Biles in an event. The whole thing was for Vanity Fair and Female Quotient, and both athletes had been invited to give a lecture to the audience.
