Mike Tyson could be back in the ring again soon despite losing to Jake Paul with a whimper in return to the professional ranks in November.

‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ saw his record drop to 50-7 with a third straight defeat, almost twenty years since his last bout against Kevin McBride. According to a man who had unlimited access to Tyson’s training camp, his friend Amer Abdallah, the youngest heavyweight champion’s ring career may not be over.

“As far as fighting [professionally] again, I don’t think that’s going to be something that he would consider,” Abdallah exclusively told WBN . “But at the end of the day, it’s Mike who is going to make that decision.

“Here’s one thing about Mike Tyson that I’ll tell you: Mike will make any decision that he feels is fit for his current situation. So, today, the answer might be no. But, next month, six months from now. The answer might be yes. It depends on what Mike wants to do and the mentality he’s in,” he added.

Abdallah said Tyson had been looking for a proper challenge for years for why he accepted a $20 million offer to face a 27-year-old influencer boxer opponent in Paul.

“He wanted the fight. And for the eight to ten weeks we were in training camp, he was busting his ass like he was 25 years old. He had that fire that he wanted to be in the gym. Discipline drove him to be there.

“I had the honor of being with him for the Roy Jones Jr card, and Badou fought just before Jake. Mike had fun in that fight. Maybe he’ll do exhibitions. It depends on what Mike wants to do. Mike does what he wants. He’s a living legend today. Whatever he’ll do, people will follow.

“Roy Jones at 52 years old, top 10 PPV events in the sport’s history. Then, Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul was the most viewed event of our time. Mike Tyson is Mike Tyson, man. He’s the guy,” concluded Abdallah.

Tyson was linked to a fight with Lennox Lewis before his poor performance at the AT&T Stadium. If the old rivals were to have a rematch, it undoubtedly would be under exhibition rules and not a serious fight.

However, despite the good numbers, Netflix would probably pass on any future Tyson events after being burned by the main event.

Jake Paul has no interest in taking on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr for a WBA belt.

The major boxing organisation’s president, Gilberto Mendoza, floated around the idea of sanctioning a fight between Paul and the former WBC middleweight champion for one of the WBA’s many trinkets earlier this year.

Chavez Jr even recently declared he had received an offer to square off with Paul following the YouTuber’s controversial professional bout with Mike Tyson in November.

However, Paul has put an emphatic end to such talk.

“I want someone tougher [than Chavez] and I want a real belt, not just something that gets put up for entertainment value,” Paul said on Friday.

“It’s great and all, but, honestly, he’s easy work and I want someone tougher to shut people up.”

Chavez Jr, son of first-ballot Hall of Famer Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, held the WBC’s version of the 160lb world title from 2011 to 2012 before dropping it to Sergio Martinez.

He fell to a one-sided unanimous decision defeat to Canelo Alvarez five years later and hasn’t looked the same since.

The 38-year-old is now competing in crossover clashes with over-the-hill MMA fighters and lost to former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, in 2021.

Paul beat Silva over the distance a year later so a fight with Chavez Jr would likely be seen as a step back.

‘The Problem Child’s’ ultimate goal is to become a world champion but he will need to receive a ranking from a major sanctioning body before that dream can be realised – although Paul doesn’t seem particularly bothered about the idea of having a number next to his name.

“F*** the rankings. It’s just a number. Who cares?” Paul said.

“People just want to classify things and do a numbers chart.

“I’ve never looked at the rankings. I couldn’t care less.

“I know I’m the best in the world and I’m going to be world champion.”

His manager, Nakisa Bidarian, then added: “The rankings are, he’s the No.1 box office draw in boxing.

“He’s ranked No.1 above everybody else. That’s why [Daniel] Dubois is calling him out, that’s why [Artur] Beterbiev is calling him out, that’s why Gervonta Davis is calling him out, that’s why Ryan Garcia is calling him out, that’s why everyone and their mom is calling out Jake Paul.

“Claressa Shields is calling him out. So it’s pretty apparent who the No.1-ranked fighter in the world is across all weight classes.”

Paul’s next fight is expected to take place in early 2025, though it remains unclear who will be standing in the other corner.

“I mean, there’s a long line out there,” Paul said of his next opponent. “They can take a ticket and get in line to see who I want to fight next.

“I don’t say that as s*** talk – I’m the biggest payday in the sport of boxing right now, so everyone wants to fight.

“When you’re the hot girl on the block, you can do what the f*** you want.”

Mike Tyson has made a terrifying admission about his fight against YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul.

In an eye-opening interview, the 58-year-old former heavyweight champ says he can barely remember the fight.

Paul won the bout via unanimous decision in a fight that drew widespread backlash with Tyson landing only 18 punches through eight rounds.

Now less than a month on from the contentious bout, Tyson has admitted he “blanked out” and can’t really recall anything from the fight.

“I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out a little,” he told Fox Sports Radio.

“I remember coming back from the first round and Jake is doing some kind of … I don’t know what he was doing (leans forward pretending to bow) and that’s the last thing I remember.”

The moment Tyson is referencing came in the dying seconds of the final round when Paul bowed to his opponent as a show of respect.

Tyson was asked about the power of Paul, but again his memory is foggy … all he remembers is waking up the next day and being sore.

“I don’t remember it. But my body was really sore (after the fight). My chest, my stomach was really sore,” he said.

The baddest man on the planet said upon reflection the next day he couldn’t understand why he had just put himself through it all.

“The day after I woke up and said to my wife, ‘why did I do that?’ I just don’t know what the hell was going on,” Tyson said.

The 58-year-old released a statement a day after the fight where he detailed the health issues he overcame to fulfil his goal of getting in the ring — something his kids didn’t get to see him do at the peak of his powers.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” the 58-year-old said.

“I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs (11kg) in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”

Jake Paul replied to the post: “Love you Mike. It was an honor. You’re an inspiration to us all.”

Mike Tyson‘s name conjures images of an unstoppable force—a gladiator in the ring, ferocious and unyielding. But even the mightiest warriors have their moments of doubt. In a surprising confession at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, Mike Tyson pulled back the curtain on his indomitable persona, revealing that he once teetered on the edge of quitting mid-fight.

You see, ‘Iron’ Mike was headlining ‘The Art of Fighting’ panel presented by TEKKEN 8, a video game developed by the brilliant minds of Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. The panel brought together real-world champions, including Cris Cyborg, and WWE Superstar Xavier Woods a.k.a. Austin Creed, to discuss shared themes and look at how fight techniques have evolved.

Regardless, a clip from this event has resurfaced on the internet once again, as boxing reporter, Elie Seckbach, reposted the clip on Instagram, giving fans a blast from the past. This comes weeks after 58-year-old Tyson lost a unanimous decision 10-round fight to YouTube star Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas.

Responding to a fan’s question during the panel, Tyson recollected his bout against Mark Young all the way back in December 1985. “My second 10-round fight—the guy wasn’t that great of a fighter, really,” Tyson said. “But he hit me in the stomach a couple of times and it hurt and I wanted to stop.”

The former heavyweight champion claimed despite the pain from Young’s punches, he didn’t quit and went on to win. In fact, Tyson won that fight via 1st round knockout—it was his 15th consecutive knockout win. He would go on to knockout his next four opponents as well before recording his first unanimous decision win over James Tillis in 1986.

Coming back to Tyson’s story, Tyson claimed despite his spectacular win, the punches left him unable to walk for three days. “I was proud that I didn’t stop and I fought back, but I couldn’t walk for three days,” Tyson recalled. This prompted the fan to guess that Tyson tried to avoid body shots from then on. But the reality was different.

“No, not really, but I know I can take them now,” Tyson quickly corrected the fan. Meanwhile, Tyson has revealed something interesting about his bout against Jake Paul.

Mike Tyson has dismissed claims that age slowed him down during his recent fight against Jake Paul. Despite losing via unanimous decision, the 58-year-old insisted he wasn’t fatigued during the eight-round bout, his first in almost 20 years. “Magically, it just happened so quick,” Tyson told 7News“Eight rounds were over fast. I wasn’t tired, I wasn’t sweating. I didn’t understand that.”

The fight, which Tyson’s son Amir called his father’s ‘best effort’ at this stage of his life, fueled rumors of being rigged—claims Amir denied. “His gas tank after the third round was just shot,” Amir clarified to Seconds Out“He did the best he could at his age.” While Tyson appears retired for good, he remains optimistic about the future, saying, “The sky is the limit. I’m very grateful to be able to do everything that I want to do in this and beyond.”

Jake Paul, who defeated former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson last month, lost to Tommy Fury back in February and the pair have been linked with a rematch ever since

Jake Paul has stated he would be open to a rematch with Tommy Fury, but only under the condition of a 12-round boxing fight.

The YouTuber-turned-professional-boxer’s sole defeat in the ring was handed to him by Fury during their bout in Saudi Arabia back in February 2023. Speculation about a potential rematch has been circulating, and both fighters’ schedules are currently clear.

Fury recently scrapped his match with Darren Till after the former UFC fighter threatened to use MMA tactics, which Fury dismissed as “stupid”. This could pave the way for a rematch with Paul, who promptly took to social media to state his terms: “Only if it’s 12 rounds.”

Their first encounter was an eight-round cruiserweight match. Fury has previously expressed his willingness to face Paul again, telling ESPN: “In a heartbeat, yeah. I mean at the end of the day I think me and him, we’re set in stone. He’s only got one defeat and that’s to me, so it’s inevitable that we are going to get back in the ring.

“I know I’m going to be an improved fighter and with him the [fights] he’s taking and what he’s doing, I’m not sure if he’s going to improve that much.”

Paul’s most recent victory saw him defeat Mike Tyson in another shortened match. The heavyweight legend came out of retirement to face an opponent decades his junior, and the age difference ultimately played a role as Paul secured his win on points.

Paul has already expressed his desire to face a high-profile opponent next, with a potential bout against Canelo being discussed. However, B.J. Flores, Paul’s former trainer, has advised him to only consider a rematch with Fury if the financial terms are favorable.

He tole The Sun: “Tommy’s unreasonable with the money and he’s unreasonable with what he’s worth. So I don’t feel like it’s mandatory for Jake to fight Tommy again before anybody else. If it made sense business-wise, if not then no.

“Tommy’s not gonna get an opportunity like that with anybody else in the world. Trust me, that’ll will never come Tommy’s way again. So if he’s reasonable on the money and reasonable on the price, yeah, get the fight again.”

Paul has fought 12 times since starting his professional boxing career in 2020, but most of those bouts have been against former MMA fighters.

The 27-year-old has recorded victories against Ali Eson Gib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice), Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Bourland, Mike Perry, and Tyson. Paul may be tempted to fight Fury again and avenge his only defeat.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul claimed Tommy Fury turned down $8million for a rematch before deleting his message.

Fury defeated Paul by split-decision in Saudi Arabia last year, settling their bitter feud. The pair had previously made two attempts to fight each other, with two bouts called off on short notice when Fury was injured and had visa issues. But third time was a charm as the pair finally stepped into the ring.

Throughout the eight rounds, Fury boxed better and was able to gauge the distance between them to land his jabs as well as landing sharp counters. That said, ‘TNT’ faced some adversity in the final round after being dropped by ‘The Problem Child’ with a solid left hand. Since their first clash, many fans have hoped for a sequel. While another contest is yet to come to fruition, reports claim that Netflix are supposedly offering a huge amount of money to make the fight.

In a recently deleted tweet, Paul claimed that Fury rejected $8m (£6.3m) to fight again. The 27-year-old wrote: “Offered Fury $8M to fight on Netflix. He turned it down and now fighting an MMA fighter… Now tell me who is running? Stupid daddy controlled kid, protected from the inevitable.” ‘The Problem Child’ suffered the first defeat of his professional career against Fury, but has since re-established a little bit of form in the ring. The social media star recently defeated former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson via unanimous decision in Texas.

“I’m sorry I didn’t knock him out,” Paul said after the fight, with those alongside him agreeing he did the respectful move by not knocking down the 58-year-old legend. He also admitted to pulling his punches after he saw Tyson in a weakened state as the fight wore on. “After I’d seen him tired I didn’t want to put too much hurt on him, but I wanted the fans to get a good experience,” he continued. “But there was a point where my aggression and violence went away when I wasn’t getting hit. I love Mike.”

As for Fury, the Brit hasn’t fought since beating YouTuber KSI back in October 2023. That said, he’s scheduled to go toe-to-toe with Darren Till on January 18 at the Co-Op Live in Manchester. Speaking about the fight, Fury said: “It feels great to finally say that I am back! I have been out of the ring far too long.

“I’ve been getting itchy knuckles so I am thrilled to be able to announce my return, headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans. Till had a good UFC career but he’s stepping into the boxing ring now, against a proper pro, and he will quickly realise that he is out of his depth and this is not the game for him. I plan on dealing with Till in conclusive fashion and then chasing even bigger fights in 2025.”

Undefeated women’s boxing star Claressa Shields expressed her belief this week that she could beat Jake Paul in a boxing match.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Shields made it clear that she feels Paul wouldn’t be able to beat her or any highly ranked men’s boxer for that matter, saying: “I don’t think Jake Paul has the skills to get inside the ring with me. Or any of the guys at 154 pounds and up who is ranked in the rankings.”

Shields, 29, is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and she owns a perfect career record of 15-0 as a professional boxer. She is the current holder of multiple titles in the heavyweight, light heavyweight and light middleweight divisions as well.

The 27-year-old Paul has only been a pro boxer since 2020, but he has already compiled an 11-1 record, and he has quickly developed into one of the biggest stars and draws in the sport.

That was apparent earlier this month when he faced 58-year-old former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a fight that drew a huge crowd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and did big streaming numbers for Netflix as well.

Paul won the fight by unanimous decision, as Tyson seemingly struggled with the his balance after the first two rounds in his first official professional fight since 2005.

Shields suggested that any criticism Paul receives is primarily due to his choice of opponents. Along with facing a nearly 60-year-old Tyson, Paul has gone up against multiple former UFC fighters such as Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva.

Coming out of the Paul vs. Tyson fight, there were plenty of conspiracy theories on social media about it being rigged, but Shields pushed back against that notion, stating that it was simply a case of a boxer well past his prime struggling against someone much younger.

Shields added, “I’m happy Mike Tyson got what he wanted out of it. I’m happy he got out of the ring safe,” noting that she has a “little bit” of respect for Paul due to the fact that he didn’t go for a late knockout.

As for Paul’s place in the boxing landscape, Shields credited him with creating more interest in the sport, saying: “He’s bringing more eyes to the sport and that’s what you need. Hopefully everybody who is involved on that side can keep building from that and also create a real blueprint to where it can be used for generations to come.”

While it is unclear if there will be any true consideration given to a Paul vs. Shields fight, there has already been a ton of noise regarding Paul’s next potential opponent.

Multi-weight-class world champion Canelo Álvarez recently said he was not interested in facing Paul after Paul called him out, but IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois has laid down a challenge to Paul.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he is willing to fight Jake Paul.

Following his retirement from professional boxing, Mayweather has engaged in numerous exhibitions. His last professional fight was against Conor McGregor in 2017. He stopped the Irishman in the 10th round to take his record to 50-0. His most recent exhibition was a rematch against John Gotti III. The first fight ended in a brawl, setting up the narrative for the rematch. Mayweather coasted to a victory even if there was no official result.

Meanwhile, Jake faced off against Mike Tyson in a professional eight-rounder this month. The fight was heavily criticized, with suggestions that there were major safety concerns. Tyson entered the ring as a 58-year-old against a much younger Paul at 27. However, both fighters made it out in one piece. And yet, the fight received a substantial amount of criticism after Tyson said that he was wearing a compression sleeve on his knee. It suggested that Tyson should not have been in the ring as he was not 100 percent.

He had already withdrawn from the original July 20 date with an inflamed ulcer. Tyson said he felt he could have died after the inflamed ulcer. But Paul ultimately picked up $40 million for the fight, something which earned Mayweather’s praise. However, Mayweather also recognized that Paul would likely get beat if he faced off against a real boxer. Jake has already faced Tommy Fury, who was his first professional boxer, as he lost a split decision.

“I’d fight him in a real fight in the weight that I’m at. “But Jake Paul, I mean as of right now, for what he’s doing, it’s good for what he’s doing, but once he fights a real actual fighter, it’s going to be bad. There’s one thing I do like about him: he’s selling it, and he’s making good money, and he’s entertaining; I like it. He’d get [messed] up by Canelo. There’s no way [he’d last until the end]. He’d get demolished,” Mayweather said

If Mayweather does not get the fight, Ryan Garcia is willing to step in. Garcia has not had a boxing fight since beating Devin Haney in April. He secured a majority decision win after sending Devin to the canvas three times. But the result became a no contest after Garcia failed VADA tests for Ostarine. He was given a one-year ban, meaning he cannot box professionally until April 2025. Garcia is scheduled to fight Rukiya Anpoin an exhibition on December 30 in Tokyo, Japan. However, that is contingent upon Oscar De La Hoya agreeing.

The Golden Boy Promoter was absent from the kick-off press conference, later stating that he needs to sign off any fight before it can happen. As of now, there is nothing to indicate that this has been done. Garcia was responsible for helping Paul during the early parts of his boxing career. He recalled how Paul would visit him at his house as Ryan would give him pointers. Now, Garcia wants the opportunity to face Paul and end his boxing career, which he helped start.

“If Jake fights the way he fought with Mike, I genuinely believe I would knock him out within four (or) five rounds. We said we would run it one day. He came to my gym a long time ago in Victorville, then he came to visit me with the Canelo (Alvarez) camp — this is before he boxed. So I kind of gave birth to his boxing career, so I’m here to end it. That’s it,” Garcia stated

Jake Paul‘s next opponent could be former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The son of the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez revealed that a meeting has been set this week with Paul’s camp.

“It’s an option, we’re looking into it,” Chavez told TUDN in Mexico. “Let’s see, this week I have a meeting. I’d be interested in fighting a champion, but fighting Jake Paul for the fame and the media would put me in a position to fight against others. I’m not looking for it, it’s been presented. It’s not concrete, but let’s see what happens.”

The 38-year-old former boxing champion holds a 54-6-1 record with 34 wins via knockout.

Chavez Jr. dethroned Sebastian Zbik in 2011 to capture his first WBC middleweight title. He defended the belt three times before losing to Sergio Martinez in 2012 for the unified WBC and The Ring middleweight championship.

In 2017, he lasted 12 rounds against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez but lost via unanimous decision.

Now at the tailend of his career, Chavez Jr. fought two former UFC fighters in his last two fights with contrasting results. He lost to former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva via split decision in 2021. Then he defeated Uriah Hall by unanimous decision in the Paul-Mike Perry undercard in July.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has called out Paul for mocking Conor McGregor.

“Yo Jake Paul, watch how you talk to MMA royalty. I’ll fight you in MMA. No weight class for no pay. That’s a great deal. But I bet YOU won’t. Stop disrespecting people in my [expletive] sport, homie. Fighting [ Mike] Tyson was your last straw. Go back to boxing wrestlers,” Jackson wrote in a post on X.

Jackson, 46, held a 38-14 record in his colorful MMA career, winning 20 by knockouts, four by submission, and 14 via decision. He captured the UFC light heavyweight title with a first-round stoppage of Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell in 2007. He also won the Bellator Season 10 light heavyweight championship and unified the UFC light heavyweight championship and the Pride FC middleweight championship.

Jackson was irked when Paul mocked McGregor following his unanimous decision win over Tyson, the 58-year-old boxing legend.

“Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs. That’s never happening. But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t,” Paul wrote on X.

Alvarez is not ruling out a potential mega-fight with Paul but on one condition.

It just won’t happen while he is the WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight champion.

“When I’m done with boxing, why not?” Alvarez said on Full Send Podcast. “Maybe, maybe I’ll do it.”

Alvarez clarified it still could happen before he retires from the sport.

“Yeah [when I’m done competing at the top],” Alvarez said. “I think it’s good because what happens is there are other people who never watch boxing or they don’t know anything about boxing, [and] they want to watch Jake Paul because he brings fans from another world, right? That’s good because everybody [gets to] enjoy it. Maybe [I’ll fight Jake Paul in the future]. Maybe.”

Paul has repeatedly challenged Alvarez in the past, and most recently after he beat Mike Tyson via an eight-round unanimous decision on November 15.

“Canelo needs me, so I’m not even going to try and call him out,” Paul said in the post-fight interview with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani. “He knows he wants a payday. So, he knows where the money man is at.”

Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions have denied rigging the Mike Tyson fight following several claims about the controversial event.

Reports claiming that Paul vs Tyson had a preordained outcome have continually dogged the headliner since Netflix broadcasted the show to over 100 million viewers on November 15. The allegations are so rife that MVP and Paul were forced to release a statement to World Boxing News over the matter.

They told WBN, “Following the wide circulation of incorrect and baseless claims that undermine the integrity of the Paul vs. Tyson event, Most Valuable Promotions [MVP] would like to set the record straight regarding the contractual agreements and the nature of the fight.

Mike Tyson rigged Jake Paul

JUST IN: Claressa Shields’ Announcement Marred by Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano Controversy

“Rigging a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States of America. Paul vs. Tyson was a professional match sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations [TDLR]. Both fighters, in good faith, performed to the best of their abilities with the goal of winning the fight.

“There were absolutely no restrictions – contractual or otherwise – around either fighter. Each boxer was able to use his full arsenal to win the fight. Any agreement to the contrary would violate TDLR boxing rules.”

The MVP defense comes after Jake Paul admitted holding meetings with Tyson about the fight alongside his wife, Kiki. In an occurrence that spawned the event four years ago, what was discussed between them has not been made public or confirmed to have been recorded.

Paul and MVP have assured detractors that anything perceived as pre-agreed between the pair is untrue.

“Trash talk and speculation are common in sports, and athletes and promoters need to tolerate nonsensical commentary, jokes, and opinions. But suggesting anything other than full effort from these fighters is not only naïve but an insult to the work they put into their craft and to the sport itself.

“It is further illogical and inane that MVP, in the debut of a hopeful long-term partnership with the world’s biggest streamer—an organization that made its first-ever foray into live professional sports with Paul vs. Tyson—would even so much as consider such a perverse violation of the rules of competition,” they concluded.

Tyson has walked away with $20 million and only a slight dent on his professional record. Meanwhile, Paul has been left to pick up the pieces as he attempts to keep doubts over his boxing career at bay long enough to secure another event with Netflix.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is currently touted as a possible next opponent for a WBA title.
