Serena Williams is best known for being one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

She made her professional debut in Quebec City in 1995, losing in the first round to fellow American Annie Miller and taking home just $240 in prize money. Within two years, and at just 16 years old, she was ranked among the world’s top 100 players before winning 23 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals. Throughout her entire sporting career, she earned a total of $95 million in prize money.

Williams announced her retirement from tennis in the September 2022 issue of Vogue magazine. “Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution,” she wrote. “I’m here to tell you that I’m evolving away from tennis, toward other things that are important to me.” In recent years, this so-called evolution has seen the former tennis star rapidly expand her venture capital fund, Serena Ventures, secure a wide range of new endorsement deals, and establish multiple businesses.

According to Forbes, Williams’ net worth as of 2024 is $340 million. Here’s a rundown of her entire brand portfolio.

Serena Ventures

Founded by Williams in 2017, Serena Ventures is a venture capital fund that supports founders from underrepresented groups. The company sees a future where “genius isn’t stifled by a lack of resources and historically overlooked people and markets are empowered for a more inclusive economy.”

As well as managing a sizable portfolio of angel investments, Serena Ventures announced it had raised an inaugural fund of $111 million in 2022, which is funding further investments and enabling the company to advance its mission. Today, its portfolio comprises 79% underrepresented founders—54% women founders, 47% Black founders, and 11% Latino founders—with Williams estimating that 14 brands have achieved unicorn status.

Some of the most successful Serena Ventures brands include:

MasterClass

Masterclass is an online education subscription platform that enables students of all skill levels to learn from subject matter experts in a wide range of fields. The site’s library of 200+ classes features several well-known faces, including filmmaker James Cameron, author Salman Rushdie, comedian Amy Poehler, and—of course—tennis player Serena Williams. Meanwhile, the MasterClass at Work series provides powerful, flexible training solutions, empowering employees to drive real business impact.

While the specific terms of her investments have not been disclosed, there’s no doubt that Williams is a long-time MasterClass supporter. “I remember finding [the company] with like eight people in a small room in a garage in San Francisco, and I just fell in love with what they were doing and what they were building,” Williams explained on TikTok.

Tonal

Billed as the world’s smartest home gym machine, Tonal combines revolutionary digital weight technology with personalized, artificial intelligence-powered coaching, enabling athletes at any level to achieve their fitness goals. The product offers more than 245 unique movements, a wide range of guided multi-week programs, Tonal Live classes, and real-time progress tracking.

In February 2022, Tonal unveiled Serena Williams as its latest brand ambassador and the face of its new “Strength Made Me” campaign, which celebrates women who are physically, mentally, and emotionally strong. “With Serena being one of our earliest athlete investors, it’s been a pleasure to work with her on extending the relationship to Tonal brand ambassador,” said Nancy Gold, Director of Sports Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Tonal.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in California, Impossible Foods is on a mission to “make delicious food that’s nutritious, better for the planet, and way better for animals.” Its existing product range, which includes plant-based ground beef, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, burger patties, and meatballs, is available in grocery stores and restaurants around the world, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Singapore, and the UK. In a 2020 survey of customers who visited restaurants partnered with the brand, 63% said they would be more likely to eat at restaurants carrying Impossible Foods products.

Williams participated in a $300 million series E financing round in May 2019, joining several other celebrities in the investment.

Noom

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in New York City, Noom is a health coaching company that offers personalized app-based weight-loss plans and exercise coaching. The app’s bite-size daily lessons help users adopt healthier habits for sustained weight loss, while its customized plans feature meal logging, water consumption tracking, and on-demand Noom Move exercise classes for all fitness levels. A study of more than 35,000 Noom app users found that about 78% of people reported some weight loss while using the app.

In 2019, Noom announced it had received investment from Serena Ventures, noting that it would also gain access to the firm’s expansive network and growing list of portfolio companies. “I’m a true believer that everyone should have easy access to a healthier life, which is why I decided to invest in Noom,” said Williams.

Esusu

Founded in 2018, Esusu is a fintech startup helping people of all backgrounds to achieve financial wellness and stability. Currently, more than 45 million Americans are deemed “credit invisible,” which means they have no credit history in any of the three major credit bureaus. Via Esusu’s app, renters can build and improve their credit rating by reporting their rental payments. To date, Esusu has helped to establish credit scores for 107,000 users, with a median credit score of 665.

In 2021, Williams invested an undisclosed amount in Esusu via Serena Ventures. “Esusu is really focused on credit building and creating pathways to financial inclusion not only for working families but for individuals as well,” she said.

Will Perform

Williams launched Will Perform, a pain relief and performance care brand, in December 2022. The brand seeks to revolutionize post-workout recovery by targeting the specific needs of athletes. “Recovery has played an integral role in my performance and professional success,” Williams said. “It’s a practice that can benefit anyone with an active lifestyle.”

Will Perform’s portfolio of pre- and post-recovery products includes muscle recovery magnesium lotions, fast-acting lidocaine pain relief, and Epsom salt shower sticks and bath soaks. Its products are currently available at various grocery stores, including Target and Walmart.

Wyn Beauty

Williams founded Wyn Beauty in 2024. The brand’s range of “makeup you can move in” uses clean, high-performing ingredients designed to “wear beautifully and keep skin improving for days.” Its product range currently includes hydrating lip gloss, mascara, lip serum, eyeliner, creamy concealer, skin-enhancing tint, and brow liner. Notably, all Wyn Beauty products are formulated, tested, and perfected for deeper skin tones.

Williams, a long-time advocate for maternal health, is donating a portion of the brand’s profits to supporting organizations that provide necessary maternal care services to mothers and their communities.

926 Productions

Williams launched 926 Productions, a multimedia production company seemingly named after her birthday (September 26), in April 2023. The announcement came not long after the release of the 2021 biopic “King Richard,” which was co-produced by Williams and chronicled the story of her and her sister Venus Williams’ rise to the top of women’s tennis under the guidance of their father and coach Richard Williams.

The company aims to bolster women and diverse individuals through four-quadrant storytelling that appeals to various age groups and genders. “With the launch of 926 Productions, we aim to elevate female and diverse voices through content that speaks to everyone,” Williams said.

Los Angeles Golf Club

Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) is the first golf team of TGL, a new Monday night golf league created by TMRW Sports, which was formed by professional golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. LAGC is one of six teams that will make up the TGL, with each team holding 3% of the league’s equity.

Williams purchased the LAGC in 2023 alongside her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and Venus. The team comprises four PGA TOUR athletes including Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose, and Tommy Fleetwood.

Miami Dolphins

In 2009, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross sold a small portion of his team’s shares to the Williams sisters and several other celebrities. The sisters became the first Black Americans to hold an ownership stake in an NFL franchise. “Having spent so much of my childhood in the area, being involved with a staple of Miami culture is a huge honor,” Williams said. “We look forward to many championships and much success together with the Miami Dolphins.” At the time of their investment, the team was valued at just over $2 billion. That figure has more than doubled in the past 15 years, with the Dolphins being one of the most popular franchises in the NFL.

Yetunde Price Resource Center

The Yetunde Price Resource Center (YPRC) was opened in 2017 to honor the life and memory of Williams’ older sister, Yetunde Price, who was tragically killed by an act of violence in 2003, leaving behind three children, four siblings, and a close community in Compton, California, that mourned her.

The center, established by the Williams and Price families, works to ensure that victims of direct or indirect senseless violence have complete access to the necessary support and resources and that where there is a dearth of services, new resources are created. It collaborates with several partner organizations to offer trauma-informed programs, promoting individual and community-wide healing and resiliency.

Serena Williams is looking back on her memories with her family over the last year.

In a Reel posted to her Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 2, the tennis pro, 43, shared photos and videos from her 2024, which included a peek at her daughters Olympia, 7, and Adira, 16 months, who she shares with husband Alexis Ohanian, 41.

In the sections from the summer, Williams can be seen riding a bike with Olympia, later posing with her as the 7-year-old holds her hands up high. Adira can be seen in August, wearing a pink tutu, and later pictured being carried by Ohanian in October.

Lastly, the entire family posed together in October, wearing Roman attire. “Thanks for all the memories, 2024 🎉,” Williams wrote in her caption.

In November, Williams spoke with PEOPLE in conjunction with her new partnership with Lingo, a continuous glucose monitor from Abbott, opening up about her two daughters.

“Olympia was a solo child,” Williams said about her older daughter, who was nearly 6 when her sister Adira was born in August 2023. “She was our star. And I am so obsessed with Olympia. Even when I was pregnant, I was like, ‘How do I even love anyone as much as Olympia? It just doesn’t work.’”

But she added, “It’s so funny how, I don’t know, just your heart gets bigger. I was just like, my heart just got bigger.”

The mom of two shared that her family dynamic growing up as the youngest of five sisters gives her a unique perspective on navigating the relationship between her two girls.

“Olympia is a very hard act to follow, but I tell you what, Adira has followed it and it’s just so crazy,” Williams told PEOPLE. “She’s amazing. I just can’t wait for people to see how amazing she is in her own way. And she’s so special and she’s so tough. She’s just a tough little cookie. And she reminds me a lot of me in that aspect.”

Earlier that month, the tennis icon shared a video on her Instagram of herself and her daughter Adira as they stood together on a tennis court. In the Reel, Adira picked up a tennis ball and looked up at her mom, who pointed to a basket filled with tennis balls and said, “Hey Adira, put it in here!”

Adira ran away from her mom, throwing the ball against a fence and walking over to a white bench. “She was just doing it, man,” Williams said in the video. “We turned on the camera, she don’t want to do it.”

“When’s too early? @adiraohanian,” Williams joked in her caption.

World No.5 in doubles and WTA pro Taylor Townsend has long admired Serena Williams.

When Serena retired in 2022 after the US Open, Townsend wrote: “@serenawilliams ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU! Thank you for inspiring me to see that a dream that felt unimaginable was possible! Thank you for leading by example and showing how to deal with struggles, criticism, and adversity while the world is watching! I can go on and on, but I cannot wait to see what your next chapter brings! Love you ❤️❤️.” But, as the way she is mesmerized by Serena’s impact on Tennis, the 23x Grand Slam champion also seems to be spellbound by Townsend’s fashion outing.

2024 has been a triumphant year for Townsend as it brought her the first Grand Slam of her career at Wimbledon alongside her doubles partner Katerina Siniakova. Now, she looks to have finally got time for herself and the WTA Finals’ runner-up in doubles is leaving no chance to enjoy her tennis break. And what’s better than to embrace the holiday vibes, amid the Christmas season, by sharing her gorgeous looks on social media!

The young American is known for keeping her Instagram updated with a lot of stylish posts. Well, she’s at it again. Taylor took to her Instagram account on Tuesday and shared a glamorous post. The 2024 US Open finalist in mixed doubles dropped a series of photos, sporting a stunning black dress. She paired it up with open-toe heels. Her light blonde hair completed the overall look. “Tay’s 2024 Holiday Card”🎁✨☝🏾” she wrote while giving a fitting caption. Indeed, she looked absolutely ready for Christmas.

A fashionista herself, this did not skip the eyes of Serena. And not only she, former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka also became a fan of her looks as they can’t get enough of Taylor’s special “Holiday card.”

Of course, the post had to invite adorable comments and appreciation from her fans. Firstly, the Japanese tennis sensation Osaka dropped her reaction as she was in complete awe of Taylor. “Oh slay 🔥” she simply wrote. Then, it was the turn of the tennis legend, who shared her reaction. “Looking like a snack. What aisle you on? 😍😍😍” she wrote. Notably, this is not the first time Serena has admired Townsend.

On October 18, Taylor took to Instagram to share her bridesmaid look in social media influencer April Buckles’ wedding. She donned a white dress while using products from Serena’s beauty brand Wyn for make-up. “Make up beat thanks to Wyn. @serenawilliams, you did your big one with this,” Townsend wrote. In response, Serena shared the picture on her Instagram story along with two heart emojis. While, this links Townsend with Serena, do you know she strikes a special chord with Naomi Osaka too?

In August, Osaka shared her struggles to return to the court after giving birth to her daughter earlier this year. “My biggest issue is that I don’t feel like I’m in my body. It’s a strange feeling, missing balls I shouldn’t miss, hitting balls softer than I remember I used to,” Osaka wrote, reflecting on the gap between her past and present performance. As a mother who herself made a comeback after giving birth to her son Adyn in 2021, Townsend could easily relate.

“That was the first time that I’ve seen her like in person since having her baby. All of the women who have had kids and came back could have easily been like, I’m good. Like, they’ve accomplished enough to where they didn’t need to, like, you didn’t have to come back. But you decided to, so I commend them. Be like, salute, position is hard,” Townsend said on ‘The Changeover’ podcast in solidarity with Osaka.

Townsend’s journey back to competitive tennis has been indeed inspiring. After her own struggles, she found her rhythm in the 2022 US Open, reaching the women’s doubles final. This was followed by victories in the 2023 Miami Open, French Open, and Cincinnati Open in women’s doubles. As the offseason kicks in, Taylor is also trying to spend time with Adyn, who is now three-year-old. Well, it appears Adyn is keen on taking up the sport when he grows up. In fact, his interest compelled his mother to draw a parallel with a prominent ATP star!

A few days back, Taylor Townsend discovered a special surprise when she caught Adyn trying his hands at tennis. In an Instagram story, dated December 17, the single mother revealed an adorable clip of him playing the sport. His accuracy was so good that he successfully hit a clear shot over the net!

The moment was undoubtedly special for Taylor as she wrote, “You’ve got a backhand on you. AJ Good Job!” Expressing her hopes for Adyn’s bright future in tennis, the mother gave a huge shout-out to the current World No.1, Italy’s Jannik Sinner. “My Man’s gonna have a backhand like @janniksin….I Hope,” she wrote in her caption. To her, Adyn’s stroke-making skills reminded her of Sinner’s on-court heroics he’s known for. Well, that’s a great comparison to make!

Ahead of her 2025 season, Taylor Townsend is trying to fulfill all her responsibilities of being a mother, trying to give as much time as possible to Adyn. But even her son is not behind in supporting her. In one of her recent social media updates, she revealed how he accompanies her to her tennis practice before going to his jiu-jitsu classes. “After my practice, we go jujitsu 🥳 ✨,” she wrote while reflecting on her commitment to being a mother and a professional athlete.

After winning the first Grand Slam title of her career Serena Williams received a special message.

The American produced one of the most iconic and influential careers not just in tennis but all of sport.

For nearly three decades the 43-year-old produced greatness on the court and broke various records on the way to becoming an all-time great,

At the start of her journey to become a sporting legend Serena Williams received a special phone call after her first triumph at Flushing Meadows 25 years ago.

Williams won the first of her 23 Grand Slam titles at the 1999 US Open, when she was just 17 years of age.

She defeated Grand Slam champions Kim Clijsters, Conchita Martínez, Monica Seles, and Lindsay Davenport, before beating top seed Martina Hingis 6-3, 7-6(4) in the final.

By winning the doubles tournament with Venus Williams, Serena became just the fifth woman in the Open Era to win both singles and doubles at the same Grand Slam.

Following her achievement, Williams recalled when she received a special phone call from none other than the President at the time, Bill Clinton.

“It was very exciting,” she said. “I thought for sure my day couldn’t get any better. Next thing I knew, someone was telling me, ‘The President of the United States wants to talk.’ I was thinking, ‘Wow.’

“He said that they had watched my last three matches and they were really rooting for me, him and Chelsea also. I talked to her also, she’s really nice (laughter).

“She said she’ll show me around Stanford when I go there for Fed Cup if I wanted to. Pretty exciting.” Williams also visited the White House along with Andre Agassi, to meet President Clinton after they both won the 1999 US Open.

President Clinton has attended the US Open and watched Williams in action both in 2013 when she won the title, and in 2022, the final event of her illustrious career. In the past he praised the athlete, her game and what she means to the younger generation.

“She always wanted to be someone who opened up new avenues for girls and women and she was able to play highly competitive, high concentration tennis, win but always be concerned about why she was really doing it,” Clinton told BBC Radio Five Live back in 2013.

Throughout her illustrious career, Williams won the US Open, her home Grand Slam, on six occasions.

Following her first trophy in 1999, Williams emerged victorious again in 2002, defeating her sister Venus in the final.

Her next US Open win did not come until 2008, before another four years and Serena claimed her fourth title in New York, winning a thrilling final against Victoria Azarenka.

Williams went on to claim three titles in a row as she clinched the 2013 and 2014 championships, once again defeating Azarenka before dispatching Caroline Wozniacki.

The American came close on other occasions to winning the title, first by reaching the semi-finals in 2015 and 2020, before finishing runner-up in 2018 and 2019 to Naomi Osaka and Bianca Andreescu respectively.

The 2024 tennis year ended amid emotional scenes in Malaga, as Rafael Nadal called time on his historic career and tennis bid farewell to one of its all-time greats.

Now a new tennis year beckons and there is every chance it could include the retirement of the last of the ‘Big 3’ in the men’s game, with Novak Djokovic casting doubt over how long he will continue to play in numerous interviews in recent months.

The next generation is bursting through the tennis ranks and after the last 12 months was dominated by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, 2025 looks set to feature a host of rising stars challenging for the top titles in the game.

Here is your Tennis365 guide to some of the stories to look out for in the next tennis year:

Novak Djokovic to retirenovak djokovic Coco Gauff

What more can Novak Djokovic reach out for?

The 24-time Grand Slam champion admitted repeatedly through the last 12 months that his motivation to continue at the top of the sport is waning, with his gold medal success at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games the final big target in his remarkable career.

He pulled out of numerous tournaments in recent months and at the age of 37, the Serbian legend will be considering a date to call time on his career.

His move to hire former rival Andy Murray as a coach for his Australian Open push confirms he is trying to reignite the flame inside him and he has suggested a second Davis Cup win with Serbia is also a big motivation.

Yet when Djokovic gets on court and those motivation issues start to impact him again, it may not take him long to realise his tennis story is coming to an end.

Serbia have been a tough draw for the Davis Cup opening tie against Denmark next month and Carlos Alcaraz’s Spain may be waiting in the second qualifying round, so any thoughts of him finishing his career with a win for his country may be scuppered.Novak Djokovic US Open

So if Djokovic does not feel the passion that has driven him to the top returning in the first half of 2025, don’t be surprised to see him leave the tennis stage and end the era of the ‘Big 3’ once and for all.

Coco Gauff has been the world No 1 player in doubles and next year, she could also climb to the top of the singles rankings.

The 2023 US Open champion climbed to a career-high ranking of No 2 last June and she finished the season on a real high by winning the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia.

Gauff still has weaknesses in her game and that is inevitable at the tender age of 20, with her serving issues tripping her up time and again in recent months.

Her US Open defence was undermined by those serving jitters and they were in evidence once again at the WTA Finals, even though she ended up lifting the title.

If Gauff can find a solution to her serving issues and file down the frayed edges on her forehand, this powerhouse performer has proved she is one of the few players in the women’s game who can out-hit world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka from the back of the court.

The finished version of Gauff may materialise in the next couple of years and that should be a player who has the ability to climb to the top of the world rankings.Novak Djokovic

Draper’s big chance

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz may have stolen a march in the battle to be the next leaders in men’s tennis by claiming the four Grand Slam titles in 2024, yet Britain’s Jack Draper has made it clear that he wants to get in on their party next year.

The Brit’s run to the US Open semi-finals in August was the highlight of a season that also saw him win his first ATP Tour title in Stuttgart last June, with his win in the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna another highlight.

Roger Federer, a name synonymous with elegance and unparalleled skill, has left an indelible mark on the world of tennis. For over two decades, the Swiss Maestro was a dominant force, amassing accolades and victories that placed him among the greatest ever, rivaled only by the legendary Jimmy Connors in terms of trophies and holding the record for third-highest prize money earned in the sport.

As the curtain closed on his remarkable career in 2022, tennis fans were left reminiscing about the iconic matches that defined his path to greatness. One such highlight was the breathtaking 2008 Wimbledon final against Rafael Nadal, a match that is rightly celebrated as one of the greatest in tennis history.

Let’s delve into five of Roger Federer’s most pivotal victories that not only shaped his career but also the landscape of tennis itself.

#5 Roger Federer vs Pete Sampras, Wimbledon 2001Roger Federer Retiring From Professional Tennis

Stepping onto the hallowed grass of Wimbledon in 2001 as the 15th seed, Federer was a promising star on the rise. Having just claimed his first ATP title earlier that year in Milan, he was ready to make his mark.

His journey through the tournament was impressive as he bested players like Christophe Rochus, Xavier Malisse, and Jonas Bjorkman, setting up a much-anticipated clash with the legendary Pete Sampras, a four-time defending champion and the tournament’s top seed.

In a match that promised fireworks, it was the 20-year-old Federer who struck first, clinching the opening set in a tense tiebreak. Sampras responded by snagging the second, but the match’s excitement surged into a deciding fifth set. Maintaining his poise, Federer edged out a 7-5 victory in the final set, though he ultimately bowed out to Tim Henman in the ensuing quarter-finals. This victory, however, catapulted him into the spotlight and earned him respect within the tennis community.

#4 Roger Federer vs Mark Philippoussis, 2003 Wimbledon

By the time Wimbledon 2003 rolled around, Federer had established himself as a formidable force in men’s tennis, having peaked at World No. 6 the previous year. Nevertheless, a Grand Slam title eluded him.

As the fourth seed, he cruised through the rounds, defeating notable opponents such as Lee Hyung-Taik and Andy Roddick in the semifinals. The final saw him paired against big-serving Australian Mark Philippoussis. Federer exhibited remarkable composure in his first Major final, sweeping Philippoussis aside in straight sets, thereby officially announcing himself as a premier contender in the sport.

#3 Roger Federer vs Tommy Haas, 2009 French OpenRoger Federer assure qu'il n'a « jamais envisagé la retraite » pendant sa rééducation

Heading into the 2009 French Open, Federer was already a 13-time Major champion but had yet to capture the elusive title at Roland Garros. Struggling in recent Grand Slam tournaments—particularly with losses to Rafael Nadal—he needed a breakthrough.

In a twist of fate, Nadal was upset in the fourth round, clearing Federer’s path. After navigating through the early rounds with ease, Federer faced Tommy Haas. In a gripping contest, Federer initially found himself down two sets. However, demonstrating his trademark resilience, he turned the match around, winning in five sets, including a decisive bagel in the fifth. This victory set the stage for him to capture his 14th Major title by defeating Robin Soderling in the final.

#2 Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal, 2017 Australian Open

Following a knee injury that forced Federer to end his season prematurely in 2016, he returned for the 2017 Australian Open as the 17th seed—the lowest he had been ranked in a Major in nearly 15 years.

In a stunning turn of events, Federer defied the odds and reached the final, overcoming formidable opponents like Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori. In the finale, he faced his long-time rival, Rafael Nadal, in a clash that was highly anticipated by fans worldwide.

The match unfolded like a classic, swinging dramatically back and forth, particularly in a gripping fifth set. After falling behind 3-1, Federer showcased his relentless spirit and won five straight games to clinch his 18th Grand Slam title, sealing a remarkable comeback.

#1 Roger Federer vs Marin Cilic, Australian Open 2018Roger Federer

With a resurgent season behind him in 2017 that featured two Grand Slam titles, Federer entered the 2018 Australian Open buoyed by expectations. Remarkably, he had navigated the tournament without dropping a single set.

His final opponent, Marin Cilic, was a familiar one, having faced Federer in the Wimbledon final the previous year, where the Swiss emerged victorious in straight sets. However, this time around, Cilic put up a fight, pushing the match to a decisive fifth set. Undeterred, Federer maintained his composure and closed out the match 6-1 in the final set, etching his name in the record books as the first male player to reach 20 Grand Slam titles.

Through these unforgettable matches, Roger Federer not only carved a niche for himself in tennis history but also set the standard for future generations. His legacy will undoubtedly resonate for years to come.

Novak Djokovic has candidly expressed his past frustrations regarding his repeated failures to clinch the French Open title, despite the progress he felt he was making towards that elusive goal.

By the year 2011, the Serbian sensation had triumphed at every Grand Slam tournament except for the French Open, where he had yet to reach a final. Between 2012 and 2015, Djokovic found himself in three finals, yet the coveted title at Roland Garros remained out of his grasp as he suffered defeats at the hands of Rafael Nadal in both 2012 and 2014, followed by a loss to Stan Wawrinka in 2015.

That all changed in 2016 when Djokovic finally broke through, overcoming Andy Murray in the final to secure his first French Open title and complete a Career Grand Slam.Novak Djokovic US Open

In a recent interview with his sponsor, HEAD Tennis, the 37-year-old reflected on how achieving his childhood dreams in 2011—winning Wimbledon and ascending to World No. 1—propelled him to seek out what came next. “After I achieved that, I began to think, what’s the next big dream? Winning as many Slams as possible became the goal. Completing all the Slams was a priority, and Roland Garros was the one that had eluded me. After losing in several finals, I felt very frustrated, but each year, I sensed I was inching closer to it,” he shared.

Djokovic recalled the magical moment in 2016, standing before one of his childhood idols, Gustavo ‘Guga’ Kuerten, a three-time Roland Garros champion. He sought Kuerten’s blessing to draw hearts on the clay, a tribute to his inspiration, and once he received it, he embraced it fully. “At that moment, I was holding all four Grand Slam titles consecutively. It was extraordinary,” Djokovic stated.Novak Djokovic Olympic

Since that inaugural victory at Roland Garros, Djokovic has added to his collection with French Open titles in 2021 and 2023, further cementing his legacy in tennis.

Last year, he etched his name in history by setting a new record for the most Grand Slam titles, now boasting an impressive total of 24 Majors, surpassing the legendary Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in this fierce contention for the ages.

Serena Williams was one of the most dominant stars tennis has ever seen, winning 23 Grand Slam titles during her career.

There aren’t many stars who can say that they had a career on the WTA Tour as impressive as Williams.

Surpassing Steffi Graff’s record of Grand Slam wins was once seen as impossible, but the American did so in style, always impressing whenever she stepped onto the court.

After 27 years in the sport, she retired in 2022, and Williams recently revealed whether she misses playing tennis.

Williams’ career was full of big wins and dominant displays, but things didn’t quite go to plan for her back in September 2015.

Roberta Vinci: The woman who ended Serena Williams’ 26-match unbeaten run at the US Open

Williams was the dominant force on the WTA Tour in 2015, having won the first three Grand Slams of the year.

She seemed a favorite to complete the illusive Calendar Grand Slam, as she entered her semi-final match at the US Open against Roberta Vinci with a 26-match winning streak at the event.

The American had won the tournament in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and it seemed inevitable that she would take home her fourth consecutive title in 2015.

Things started well for Williams, who took the first set 6-2 against her unseeded opponent, before things quickly unravelled.

Serena Williams is looking trimmer than ever these days—and fans think they know the reason why.

Commenters on the legendary athlete’s most recent Instagram posts noted the 43-year-old mother-of-two’s noticeably slimmer frame, with many speculating that a medication like Ozempic might have had something to do with her weight loss.

In a video posted earlier this week, Williams danced for the camera wearing a short black tennis dress and neon green shorts, showing off her toned legs.

While some fans applauded her “slight twerk” and “sashay,” others couldn’t get over her appearance.

“That Ozempic weight loss medicine ain’t no joke,” wrote one person.

“Ozempic?” asked another.

“Poor baby, What happened,” a third commenter wanted to know.

Fans similarly reacted to another pair of photos shared on Instagram which showed Williams snuggled under a blanket on a plane, even though she was snacking on what appeared to be a sandwich in one of the pics.

“She losing a lot a weight?” one social media user asked.

Others came to the tennis icon’s defense, however.

“nothing wrong with that…everyone is trying to lose weight. I lost 34lbs so far. Not a bad thing. Happy for her,” shared someone else.

Williams has been open about her weight loss journey since welcoming her second daughter, Adira River, with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, in August 2023. They also share a 7-year-old daughter, Olympia.

In May, Williams shared a video of herself trying on a denim skirt that she’d been hoping to fit into for some time.

“I am going to try on my skirt again to see if it’s any closer than it was four weeks ago. Really it’s been about six weeks. Honestly, I feel like it’s gonna fit the same because I’ve been gym-ing a lot but I don’t know if the needle is moving,” she said in the clip, adding, “I wanna cry, but I’m not. I’m gonna stop eating all those snacks,” she joked.

Novak Djokovic drew attention on social media after reposting a video from Cristiano Ronaldo, joining several elite athletes amid ongoing speculation about a potential collaboration.

In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, we look at some of the day’s highlights: Aryna Sabalenka trains in Dubai with a fun challenge alongside her team, while Carlos Alcaraz appeared in a new Q&A round in a viral ATP video.

ATP Shares Alcaraz’s hilarious fan moment and Federer admiration

The ATP shared an old interview with Carlos Alcaraz during the Queen’s Club Championships earlier this year. The 21-year-old Spaniard spoke candidly about topics ranging from the funniest moment he has experienced with a fan to which tournament in another sport he would like to win. He even took the opportunity to praise Roger Federer, whom he chose as his companion if he were ever stuck in an elevator.Novak Djokovic US Open

The 4-time Grand Slam champion recounted the funniest moment he’s had with a fan:“They asked me for a selfie, and they took the selfie, but with the other camera, the wrong one. We waited like ten, fifteen minutes to take the real selfie,” he said. When asked what he would choose to eat if it were the only thing he could eat for the rest of his life, Alcaraz hesitated before enthusiastically answering: “Let’s say sushi… no. Paella!” he exclaimed. “That’s a good question,” he added.

On another note, he was asked if there’s a question fans frequently ask that bothers him or he’d like them to stop asking. “It’s not annoying, but I would say the comparison with Rafa (Nadal),” Alcaraz replied.
